After the success of its online chess tournaments in Europe and the Middle East, the International Schools Partnership (ISP) hosted the Mexico & Central America Online Chess Tournament on Friday, July 24, 2020. The competition was open to both Junior (aged 5 – 12 years old) and Senior students (aged 12 – 19 years old) from ISP schools in the Mexico & Central America and US regions.
The BRIS Chess Team placed 4th in both the Junior and Senior Divisions. Congratulations to the following students for their impressive chess skills!
  • Senior Chess Team: Seif Sultan, Ava Bush, AJ Delos Reyes, and Genti Brahimi

  • Junior Chess Team: Matteo Runge, Jacob Stephenson, Elliott Barre, Andre Delos Reyes, and Tom Bruinsma

During the hour-long tournament using Lichess.org, students played 3-minute Blitz games against different students from the other ISP Schools. Each player got to take part in 6 – 10 matches, making it an excellent opportunity to improve problem-solving and decision-making skills, while building connections with the other students.

We would also like to thank Coach Abraham and the team parents for all of their support.

Geaux Falcons!
