Welcome to BRIS

Baton Rouge International School provides students with transformative and meaningful experiences that instill a lifelong love of learning, leadership, and service, shaped by innovative and passionate teachers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to educate our children for the future by giving them the opportunity to be multilingual lifelong learners through a globally connected education, an innovative STEM program and national and international curriculum which opens the doors to prestigious universities in the United States and abroad.

Step by step, combining tradition and modernity, today’s students will become tomorrow’s leaders.

Our Philosophy

At the core of our philosophy is a belief that language is the instrument that links individuals to the world. Being able to communicate in a second, third or even fourth language provides unparalleled opportunities. Language allows us to discover other peoples, other cultures and moreover, to understand our own identity.

At BRIS, we believe it is critical that each student acquire communication skills and develop cross-cultural understandings of the economic, political and social cooperation in an increasingly independent world. We emphasize “multilingualism” and develop foreign language acquisition naturally through a variety of subject-area activities. The acquisition of foreign languages through a structured and challenging curriculum prepares the child to play an important role in the 21st Century.

Meet Ms. Vicki Jarrell, Head of Baton Rouge International School.

BRIS is part of the International Schools Partnership, a growing group of committed colleagues in financially responsible schools around the world, all of which aim to be the school of choice in their local area.
